raspios-buster

hi, I use iredmail successfully on many linux distributions, even on raspbian 9 on raspberry, the problem arises on new raspberry with new raspios-buster-armhf-lite image
I discovered that from the official repositories there are problems with the installation but I don't understand what, iredmail works and is installed but does not receive emails from others as if something was blocked, in fact only on this version of raspbian the file is not created /etc/default/iptables

in previous versions everything is created and runs smoothly, i think it is an iptables problem or whatever, who could help me?

i tried to create the same file(/etc/default/iptables) but it doesn't work.

What does it mean?

Unable to close open ports

Hello,

I have iRedMail 1.3.2 installed on Debian 10...

I'm trying to close port 110 on my email server.

I enabled UFW and when I check on its status I get the following output:

sudo ufw status

110    DENY    Anywhere

When I scan port 110 with nmap it says the following...

PORT    STATE SERVICE
110/tcp open  pop3

I closed port 110 via UFW so why is nmap still showing that it's open? I have no idea what I'm doing wrong so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Anthony

Thanks for putting this out there for everyone to use.. This is working pretty great.  I have minimal issues right now.

1: I got SSL certs from Lets Encrypt and everything is fine except for LDAP.  If I enable TLS for LDAP, it will not start.

I created sym links for the Lets Encrypt certs and everything correct in that regard.  The admin page is no longer showing the unsafe error, etc...

If I enable this in /etc/ldap/slapd.conf:

TLSCACertificateFile /etc/ssl/certs/iRedMail.crt
TLSCertificateFile /etc/ssl/certs/iRedMail.crt
TLSCertificateKeyFile /etc/ssl/private/iRedMail.key

I get this error when restarting ldap:

vic@mail:~$ sudo systemctl restart slapd
Job for slapd.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status slapd.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

Thanks to quick help from ZhangHuangBin, my iRedAPD connection problem is history. However, I've run into another iRedAPD-related problem.

iRedAPD has a plugin 'ldap_force_change_password' that purports to prevent SMTP sessions (i.e., no sending) when a password is expired. I did some preliminary checks a week ago using Mozilla's Thunderbird email client, and was quite happy with the results. Not only was sending prevented, but the user got an alert message pop-up containing the webmail address where the password could be changed. Great!

The problem now is that, with my other issue addressed, I can do more testing with other clients...and that is not looking so promising. :-/  Thunderbird still works fine, but other Linux-based clients (claws-mail, sylpheed) don't. Same for Andoid open-source clients (K-9 Mail, FairEmail). In most cases, the message simply gets sent, with not even a warning.

Why is this? Is the plugin really so dependent on the client picking up a signal that there's a 'problem'? Do I (really??) need to require users to stick with Thunderbird, so that I can expire their password when necessary? Or...am I missing something in the setup (more likely!)?

It seems to me that something like this should happen at a client-independent level, no?

====

I apologize upfront; I am very certain this has been asked (probably many times), and I'm confident the solution is out there - but I'm having trouble finding the answer.

Mail flow is fine: the server accepts mail for its domain (e.g., example.com).

However, the server won't accept mail for itself (i.e., at its hostname, e.g., mymailserver.example.com).   The hostname is specified in /etc/postfix/main.cf as a destination:

mydestination = $myhostname, localhost, localhost.localdomain

I feel like I'm missing something very obvious here.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi Zhang,

Please help. I'm getting the below error from /var/log/maillog: I've been troubleshooting this for 2 weeks now.

"postfix/submission/smtpd[48795]: Anonymous TLS connection established from unknown[192.168.222.2]: TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)

The above error showed when I used outlook. It's intermittent. sometimes i can send mail
even with attachment but sometimes the email is just there in "outbox".  Sending mail without attachment is perfect.

Here is the troubleshooting steps i've done:
a. Adjusted server timeout in outlook
b. Installed lets encrypt ssl certificate
c. Disabled window scaling (/etc/sysctl.conf)
d. Allowed only IPV4  (/etc/postfix/main.cf = inet_protocols = ipv4)
e. Allowed port 993/587/25 in windows firewall and in ubuntu UFW
f.  Attachment size is just kb.

Thanks,

Hello.

I have email server with two public IPs and I want to send all forwarded mails via specific IP to prevent primary IP to become blacklisted.

So:
primary public IP: send all emails that are actually send by email user, hosting on email server
secondary public IP: send all email which have been setup to be forwarded in SOGo sieve or iredadmin

How can i achieve that?

The client is Outlook 2016. Any idea what is causing this?

Hi,

what's your experience with ActiveSync and SOGo? Is it reliable/stable for you? I wonder if it is production ready with ~60 clients (Outlook 2016).

Thanks!

Some idea?

Hello.

ALLOWED_LOGIN_MISMATCH_SENDERS can allow one or more users to send as another user.

Now I want to restrict that user and allow to spoof only specific address.
For example:
in iredapd i have: ALLOWED_LOGIN_MISMATCH_SENDERS = ['user@example.com']
i want to restrict user@example.com to be able to spoof only user123@example.com address but not user1234@example.com

How can i achieve that?

Thank you.

Can I bulk import mail filters?

Is there a way I can import a bulk list of mail filters?

Even if the method is to manually write out the filter definitions and update a config file.    I have a whole bunch of filters in an old eMail program that I would prefer to be running on the server.   Be nice if I could cut and paste into a file then just add the lines to the iRedMail server.
