====

iRedMail Version --> 1.5.1
Deployed with downloadable install
Rocky Linux release 8.5 (Green Obsidian). An upgrade from Centos 8
Mail Account store --> PGSQL
Webserver Nginx
Mail accounts management --> iRedAdmin

Am trying to clean up the activities log on iRedAdmin. I have a lot of entries there (over 5000)

When I select 50 entries the go to choose action --- delete all in database then click on apply, I get an error

 Error: TypeError("delete() missing 1 required positional argument: 'where'",)

Am only able to delete the messages if I delete 50 at time but this will take a very long time.

1. Is there any way of deleting from CLI? It looks like an SQL query.
2. I only discovered this activity log recently. I think it should be mentioned in the regular maintenance docs

Running iRedMail 1.5.2
On: Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS
I downloaded the .tgz for Debian/Ubuntu
Running the default Nginx
I don't have Pro.

After installation, I did Admin Login to create mail accounts.

Maybe 4.5 hours later, I was curious to check the roundcube interface, and accessed the mail server from a different machine.

The RoundCube interface gave me a login window with Admin User Name, and Admin Password pre-filled, I just had to click login.

I shut down the Mail server at that point.

I booted the Mail Server back up hours later, and again, going to domain.dmn/mail/ again showed me a prefilled login screen with Admin / Pass pre-filled and I just had to click login.

I noticed by chance that this page has changed yesterday: https://docs.iredmail.org/upgrade.iredm … 1.5.2.html

I printed it few days ago to look at what changes before doing it, and it was 2 pages long. Today i noticed it became 6 pages long.

This can be confusing because those who made the changes in the past days, could miss the last changes.
I think there sould be a new number of version, or some kind of notifications about the changes, otherwise someone thinks to be up to date, but misses some piece.

"Defanging" Banned Types with Amavisd

- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 1.5.1
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer? Downloadable

====

Hello,
I am having difficulty getting the "defang" feature to work in amavisd. In `/etc/amavis/conf.d/50-user` I have the following:

$defang_virus  = 1;  # MIME-wrap passed infected mail
$defang_banned = 1;  # MIME-wrap passed mail containing banned name

# Banned
$final_banned_destiny = D_PASS;
$banned_files_quarantine_method = 'local:banned/%m';
$banned_quarantine_to = 'banned-quarantine';

Seems pretty straightforward. Yet, the banned attachment types are simply coming through as normal, e.g. not Mime Wrapped). I have previously verified that my banned filename regex was working so that should not be the issue (I was originally rejecting such emails entirely). What am I missing? Alternatively, my end goal is to strip certain attachments from the e-mail; is there another way to accomplish this with iRedMail?

Thanks.

I got a notification email which explained that my certificate was going to expire soon so I did some shopping around. The original cert was through digicert but I found a better price with Sectigo so I went with them. Since I have multiple servers which need certificates I with with a domain validation certificate. I went through the steps with my ISP to generate the CSR and submitted it to Sectigo and got my cert within a few minutes.

When I copied the certificate to the server and did the appropriate renaming I saw that the file sizes were different than they were on the old certificate. For instance, The iRedMail.key was 1708 butes and the new one is 2204 butes. The old iRedMail.crt file is 4124 bytes and the new one is 5652. I must have done something wrong, but I thought I followed the directions properly.

Can one use a DV SSL with iRedMail? If so, what changes must I make to the CSR procedure so that it works?

I should add that before I decided to go with a DV SSL, I followed the instructions on generating the CSR for the single server.

Thanks

After many successful years of relying on iRedMail, I have today shut down the last of my servers running it.
I just wanted to post a big thank you to both Zhang and all the users of this forum who have helped me with issues over the years, it really has been appreciated.

iRedMail is a great solution, it has served me very well.

Thanks.

Good day.

I got 2 mail servers: srv1 and srv2 with several domains on each server.
In amavis/clamav settings i enabled to block Encrypted archives and OLE2 files with macros.
If i send such file from srv1 to srv2 or back, clamav on destination side blocks those mails as it should.
How can i check outgoing emails, so that they will be blocked upon sending?
The solution will probably help to solve another issue:
If i send email with those attachments within srv1 (from user to another user) the mail is not blocked, so clamav is not scanning it.

I need some help please regarding sending e-mails.
I have installed everything, now I have the first account generated postmaster@domain.com.
Using this mail account, I can send and receive and everything goes well.
I have generated a second account like office@domain.com (this is on the same domain like the first, it is not a different domain).
With this second mail account, I can't send emails using Thunderbird. Using my second email account, I can send emails only if I go to the web page and use RoundCube and I can go to the web page only when I am on the local network because I allready have a port forward to port 443 to another web server.
I am not interested in using web page RoundCube to send emails, I want to use just Thunderbird.
Using my main account, postmaster@domain.com I can send email without problems using Thunderbird.
Can somebody please help me?
Looking forward for your answers.
Thanks in advance.

Hello. I use iredmail and I am very satisfied with it.
I decided to migrate from debian to devuan a few days ago (reason: systemd is nonsense)
I wrote the following two scripts to run iredadmin and iredapd and both work properly:
iredapd:

#!/sbin/openrc-run

name=$RC_SVCNAME
description="iRedAPD (A simple posfix policy server)"
command="/usr/bin/python3"
command_args="/opt/iredapd/iredapd.py"
pidfile="/run/iredapd.pid"

depend() {
    after net local-fs netmount
}

iredadmin:

#!/sbin/openrc-run

name=$RC_SVCNAME
description="iRedAdmin daemon service"
supervisor="supervise-daemon"
command="/usr/bin/uwsgi"
command_args="--ini /opt/www/iredadmin/rc_scripts/uwsgi/debian.ini --pidfile /var/run/iredadmin/iredadmin.pid"

start_pre () {
    ebegin "Creating working directory"
    /bin/mkdir -p /var/run/iredadmin
    ebegin "Change owner of working-dir to iredadmin:iredadmin"
    /bin/chown iredadmin:iredadmin /var/run/iredadmin
    ebegin "Change permission of working-dir to 0755"
    /bin/chmod 0755 /var/run/iredadmin
#    ebegin "Starting the daemon"
#    /usr/bin/uwsgi --ini /opt/www/iredadmin/rc_scripts/uwsgi/debian.ini --pidfile /var/run/iredadmin/iredadmin.pid
}

depend() {
    after net local-fs netmount
}

stop() {
    ebegin "Stopping $RC_SVCNAME"
    /usr/bin/uwsgi --stop /var/run/iredadmin/iredadmin.pid
    ebegin "Remove the working directory"
    /bin/rm -rf /var/run/iredadmin
    eend $?
}

I'm having a problem right now.
I'm going to update iredadmin but the installer script gives an error: {Release version of the operating system on this server is unsupported by iRedMail}
I know devuan is not officially supported by you but I am asking for help.
Can the script be set up to think: This is a Debian?
Or is there a way to install/update iredmail without using script?

Do i understand correctly that if i configure from tutorial https://docs.iredmail.org/dovecot.imapsieve.html
and move spam email from inbox to Junk folder, imap_sieve will learn that this email is spam. But if i remove it from Junk folder - imap_sieve will consider this clean email. Does this mean, that if i delete mail from Junk folder (move it from Junk to Trash) imap_sieve will think that this email is clean? What is the best way to clean Junk folder then?

iRedMail Letsencrypt Certificate for a second domain added

==== REQUIRED BASIC INFO OF YOUR IREDMAIL SERVER ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release):
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer?
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version:
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL):
- Web server (Apache or Nginx):
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro?
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====
Hi guys.
I am in a need of a second domain added to my mail server.
I have made the required thing into the DNS zone of the second domain, I have added the domain from the Admin area from iRedMail and also I have created a mailbox for this second domain.
I have tested it using RoundCube and it is working.
I need some help, please, with generating the SSL Certificate from Letsencrypt for this second domain.
As far as I remember from the config for the first domain, iRedMail uses one certificate that is named iRedMail.crt from the SSL Certificates folder and this certificate's key from the Private folder.
Is it ok to just use this second domain as it is? I receive a warning message in Thunderbird when I try to add this mailbox, a warning that is reffering to this second domain, and that it trying to impersonate the first domain.
Is it all good?
Example: domain1.com is the first domain that was added and used while configuring the server. On this domain, let's say that it exists office@domain1.com.
Now I have added domain2.com and created office@domain2.com.
When I try to add office@domain2.com in Thunderbird, that warning pops.
Looking forward for your answers.
Thanks in advance!

Postfix accepts trash mail even if sasl is enabled in configuration

Hello, I deployed a iRedmail server and left it to "work on its own". But recently, I found that my accounts aren't accepting messages anymore. I glanced into mail.log and found thousands of scam mails were queued.

First, I deleted all queued mails and enabled sasl (I guess?) following the guidance of here:
    https://docs.iredmail.org/enable.smtp.a … rt.25.html
But then I telneted port 25 from localhost, it didn't require me to AUTH. I tried a random address, and it was queued.
The next day my worries came true. Thousands of scam mails filled my poor mailserver.

So I guess, there must be something wrong. Can somebody please point out what is wrong in my configuration file?

- P.S. My mailserver is exposed to Internet via NAT, so to postfix, any connection was not from INTERNET but LOCALHOST.

Also, under the configuration below, the output of EHLO is like this:
250-[domain]
250-PIPELINING
250-SIZE 15728640
250-ETRN
250-STARTTLS
250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES
250-8BITMIME
250-DSN
250-SMTPUTF8
250 CHUNKING

UPDATE: I realized that what I need to do is to forbid anonymous sending messages. Any idea how to modify permissions?

Here is the configuration: (also presented in attachments)

Hello, for some reasons, I have to remove "permit_mynetworks" from my postfix configuration file, in csae of somebody abuse it. But it also makes Roundcube cannot send mails, because all relay requests from localhost will be denied. I have set "permit_sasl_auth" in the same section, but how do I make round cube to use them?

Thanks in advance. There might be something wrong in my description, please let me know if you have any idea!

Roundcube cannot send mail anymore after I removed "permit_mynetwork"

$

Hello guys, I have a server that needs to forbid local network requests of using postfix relay, so I decided that I should set up SASL for iRedmail.

As I modified "smtpd_relay_restrictions" to permit_sasl_auth, the Roundcube web interface cannot send mail anymore, which suggests that Roundcube was never configured to use SASL authentication when using local postfix relay.

So the problem is, how should I fix it? Please let me know if you have any idea, thanks in advance!

I'm long behind on updating iRedMail and I need to switch from CentOS 7 anyway.  I've built a new Rocky Linux 8 server and installed iRedMail and verified it's working.  The next step is to migrate the data and to do that I need to bring my existing server database up to the current iRedMail version.  As I understand it I don't need to update any of the software, just make the database changes, but I thought I'd do the full upgrade process anyway so I can take longer to update without having to disable email.

I reviewed my notes from previous updates and noticed that at one of them I was supposed to remove cluebringer.  I wasn't sure how to do that at the time and forgot to got back and revisit it.  How do I remove cluebringer?

Also as I'm so far back are there any issues I should watch out for?  My server is a VM so my plan was to snapshot and test between each update.
