I got 2 independent installations of iRedMail. Recently i got information from users that some sent emails do not appear in Sent folder. This doesn't happen to all emails of course, but today i looked at my server - i can see that email was sent in the log file, but can't find it in users Sent folder ( iwas also a recepient and received this message to my gmail account). This also happened last week on my 2nd email server, some sent emails dissapeared. Don't know, maybe last update caused this (never had such feedback from users before last update to 1.4.0)

Where to start digging?

OpenBSD /var/vmail/backup/backup_mysql.sh

So this is on my slightly older OpenBSD ldap install, i
1.3.2 LDAPD edition.

I was noticing an error in my backup:

==> Backup completed successfully.
/var/vmail/backup/backup_mysql.sh: line 194: [: argument expected
==> Detailed log (/var/vmail/backup/mysql/2021/04/26/2021-04-26-03-30-01.log):

So I changed line 193 from

if [ X"${REMOVE_OLD_BACKUP}" == X'YES' -a -d ${REMOVED_BACKUP_DIR} ]; then

to

if [ X"${REMOVE_OLD_BACKUP}" == X'YES' -a -d "${REMOVED_BACKUP_DIR}" ]; then

And it cleared up the error.

I would like to just reinstall with the latest download so I would get the latest version.  I think this would be easier and less problematic to do than going through all of the upgrades and the steps to do them. They can be quite complicated.

One thing I would like to do if this is possible is back up all of my mail keeping the folders intact that I have created as seen in Roundcube and when I restore the mail it would also be in all the folders when i started back up.
Is this possible?

With this being said it would be something I would like to do when iredmail upgrades to the bullseye (Debian 11).

Objective - Have had iRedMail up and running for quite some time and now attempting to switch all outgoing emails over to Amazon SES for better deliverability.

Steps taken - Followed instructions from here https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/ … stfix.html

Status - am able to send emails by command line and confirm they are routing through Amz SES

Dilemma - emails originating from Roundcube are stuck in mailq with error message: TLS is required, but was not offered by host 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]

Question - What have I missed?

Help With Installation

Hi,

I am new to iRedmail, and want to have my own mail server.  I have been reading a bit before jumping into the installation, and am well aware that there are a few things I don't really know how to set up.

I am behind a small home server (ClearOS), checked that port 25 is open in my ISP.  But I don't have a fixed IP address.  As far as I have managed to understand, I can't have a mail server without a fixed IP, but I do know that ClearOS gives me a DynDNS by default.

If my ClearOS (main server) is xxxxx.yyyy, can I use mail.xxxxx.yyyy as de FQDN where I will install iRedmail ?? I do have another server Domain available just in case, but would rather use this one if at all possible.

So the question is, based on my setup, what do I need to do to set up an email server ?

I have to change my MX records as well, do I also need a mail forwarding service, say like MailJet ??   I have a MailJet account already as well, just in case.

I would very much appreciate some help in putting everything together.

I can install iRedmail, no worries, I have the FQDN for the server (if at all possible I would use one based on my current server name, but I have another one just in case), and I also have a couple mail domains I want to set up.

Fortunately I can definitely go through most of the install, but will need help with the DNS records, the IP address to use or how to use the ClearOS DynDNS, and how to setup a mail forwarding service if needed (MailJet).

If someone can help me sort through these bits I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks

Manolo

Can someone tell me how to best to move to Ubuntu 20.04:
- upgrade ? if so what steps I need to do after system upgrade
- reinstall whole OS, what things I should backup and how to restore.

Such a tutorial in docs would help a lot but it's missing sad

To resolve this error FreeBSD needs to follow the OpenBSD path.

Hi.

I have a problem trying to connect Thunderbird or Outllok with ldap, I followed all the steps in the different tutorials. My system is fully functional. I have the ports open via firewall (ufw), but apparently the connection or some important port is still blocked.

Another detail is that if I try to telnet to port 389 or 636 it won't respond at all. As I have read in the documentation, these ports are closed by default, how should I open them so that they can be listened to from outside the network?

Another detail is that if I try to set the certificates in the configuration of the slapd.conf file (I use Let's Encrypt certificates), the ldap service gives an error and does not work.

What should I do?

Dear Support,
Our VM server has two network interfaces installed, ens160 and ens192.
Postfix randomly chooses the interface to send outgoing emails.
We would like to send outgoing emails only from ens160, can you please advise how to do it?

Thank you

See questions below:

Postfix (SMTP)
Intended policy rejection, please try again later

Sample error message in Postfix log file:

    Jul 24 06:43:08 mx0 postfix/smtpd[12719]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from sender.com[xx.xx.xx.xx]: 451 4.7.1 recipient@my-domain.com: Recipient address rejected: Intentional policy rejection, please try again later; from=sender@sender-domain.com to=recipient@my-domain.com proto=SMTP helo=

This error is caused by greylisting service, sender server will retry to deliver the same email, and your server will accept it after few retries.

1- "few retries" how many? and where do I set how many?

2- It soft reject messages with 451.4.7.1 -- How do I set it to 550 rejection so the sender know and gets a message back on the spot that they have a mis-configured server?

Hello, I need to validate a publicity facebook profile and I need to get an email to one of my iredmail accounts.  The source of the email is notification@facebookemail.com as stated in troubleshooting from facebook https://www.facebook.com/business/help/ … 2101909005

I can receive emails from gmail for example but not from facebook. I already check the/etc/postfix/helo_access.pcre file and have the facebook line, as describe in the manual. I also remove the line below and restart postfix and no luck. I have check the logs and no indications of any kind of errors.

I have added  nslookup -type=txt facebookmail.com text="v=spf1 ip4:66.220.144.128/25 ip4:66.220.155.0/24 ip4:66.220.157.0/25 ip4:69.63.178.128/25 ip4:69.63.181.0/24 ip4:69.63.184.0/25" "ip4:69.171.232.0/24 ip4:69.171.244.0/23 -all"

to the server

and the same ips to the whitelisted

sudo python /opt/iredapd/tools/wblist_admin.py --add --whitelist 66.220.144.128 66.220.155.0 66.220.157.0 69.63.178.128 69.63.181.0 69.63.184.0 69.171.232.0 69.171.244.0 @facebook.com @facebookmail.com

Still no luck getting the email.

Any suggestions or steps Im been missing?

Thanks.
