Why does mariadb/ mysql install with LDAP?

==== Required information ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 0.9.8
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: OpenBSD 6.3
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): LDAP
- Web server (Apache or Nginx): Nginx
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro? No
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.

After choosing LDAP (openldap, not ldapd) as a backend, why does mariadb install at all? I do not have the time to investigate this right now, but following comes to mind:

- Probably some settings are getting stored in the mariadb database. If that is the case, does mariadb install even when choosing postgres as a backend? If not, can we somehow force installation of postgres instead of mariadb for storing data?

Also, on a vanilla OpenBSD system, daemons started are both ldapd and openldap. Can ldapd be stopped if not in use?

Hi,

I'm trying to block all external emails from being sent from an account. I had a look at https://forum.iredmail.org/post52551.html#p52551 but it says:

No --add, --delete or --list specified. Exit

I've tried to roll my own by doing:

python wblist_admin.py --account dev@example.com --add --blacklist '@.'
python wblist_admin.py --account dev@example.com --add --whitelist '@example.com'

which it accepts but doesn't stop the emails.

I upgraded to iRedAPD 2.2 from 1.7 to try and get this to work.

Dear Support,

Is the iredmail or iredadmin Pro support the function that keep a copy of sending out email from all staff. My Boss would like to keep a copy of all sending out emails from each staff.

Please advice.

Thanks.

Mike

Hello,

Upgrade from 0.9.7 to 0.9.8 went perfect except the last step.
"Amavisd: Add new SQL column maddr.email_raw to store mail address without address extension"
I have removed "already exists" errors from log, because I have started script for the second time.

root@mail:~/iRedmail_0.9.9_upd# su - postgres
postgres@mail:~$ psql -U amavisd -d amavisd
psql (9.5.12)
Type "help" for help.

amavisd=>
amavisd=> sql> \i /home/mailserv/iRedmail_0.9.9_upd/amavisd.pgsql
psql:/home/mailserv/iRedmail_0.9.9_upd/amavisd.pgsql:3: ERROR: invalid input syntax for type bytea
psql:/home/mailserv/iRedmail_0.9.9_upd/amavisd.pgsql:7: ERROR: invalid input syntax for type bytea

What I can do with these "invalid input syntax for type bytea" errors? Do they affect on my e-mail server?

P.S. there is small typo in PostgreSQL command: "psql -d vmail < /root/iredmail.mysql"

I read https://docs.iredmail.org/manage.iredapd.html

And about Greylist I have two questions, please:

1 - Which user I must use to add spf_to_greylist_whitelists.py to cron (root, iredapd)? I don't find any cron entry for this.

2 - Some users starts to use smtp in cloud. So, even if they send often mail to my Iredmail server they ends in greylist, 'cause they always send a mail from differents host/ip smtp server. What con I do for this? Is there a chance to put a range of ip/hostnames for python greylisting_admin.py --whitelist-domain --from "cip&ciop.fantasyname" ?

Greetings,

since our update to 0.9.8 (from 0.9.6) we have problems with users sending mail with their alias address as sender. Before (with version 0.9.6) it worked as expected.

We have "ALLOWED_LOGIN_MISMATCH_LIST_MEMBER = True" in config of iredapd (iRedAPD-2.2).

This is a line of iredapd log file with the problem:

2018-04-17 13:52:10 INFO [245.14.144.145] RCPT, user@domain.com => alias@domain.com -> receipient@anotherdomain.com, REJECT Sender is not same as SMTP authenticate username [sasl_username=user@domain.com, sender=alias@domain.com, client_name=245-14-144-145.cable.dynamic.ddwf.com, reverse_client_name=245-14-144-145.cable.dynamic.ddwf.com, helo=[192.168.0.136], encryption_protocol=TLSv1, process_time=0.0032s]

Since the alias addresses have been moved to the new table "forwardings", can this be the source of the problem?

Thanks.

I am having issues with getting SSL configured for my server.  I used Certbot to get the certs but for some reason it cannot configure them automatically.

I have manually configure nginx to point to the cert files, but website still shows untrusted certificate and when certs are viewed they are self signed.

I have iRedMail Version 0.9.7

It's seems since the update to 0.9.8 the script notify_quarantined_recipients.py generate and error when running. Any idea how to fix it ? Was working fine in 0.9.7

Looking for a solution to migrate some 100 users from exchange hosted at Rackspace to in-house server.
Preliminary trials failed.
One requirement from the customer. Must use Outlook.
Using "imapsync" I was able to migrate the mailboxes OK Had to rename some folders
Contact and calendar folders do not migrate.
1- Try to convert contacts to vcards but it does not scale with each user have over 1000 contacts.
    even if moving one at a time the import will not match sogo fileds as sogo do not have "middle Name" fileds things get real messy
2- Was not able to get Calendar to properly sync in outlook and the mobile devices.

3- Time to reconfigure each user became economically prohibitive.

if anyone have a solution I would like to hear, will consider commercial solutions

Hello, first I want to thank you if you can answer since this is not a problem of the platform.

Interestingly one of the domains that I host have disappeared the e-mails prior to the year 2016. Is there any way to check if this is a problem or data corruption? I installed Roundcube thinking it could be SoGo but the attempt was thwarted. I have also used tools from Dovecot, but also without success.

I look forward to ideas! Thank you.

Howdy. This is kind of weird -- The SPAM score of all icoming mails are 0.0. I installed the latest version on a fresh (new) server. My old version (0.97) showed a different score for each mail. Am I missing something?

I am unable to receive email from a specific host

This is a log on my mail server for what's happening at the time the email is being received from the remote host.

The only thing that I'm getting out of this is that there was a protocol issue, but I can receive email from other hosts, and the remote host can send email to other hosts.

I have been unable to find more information about a 550 5.5.1 that might make sense in this situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally origin.example.com and mailserver.example.com are the remote server, whereas local.example.com is my server and should be considered entirely different domains.

I wish to have all incoming email automatically move into specific folders based on sender address.
Ex. *@ibm.com will go into IBM folder, *@cisco.net > into CISCO folder and so on.
I found an old post not valid anymore it was 2011.
Let me know if have new compatible plugin, and guide on how to install plugin thanks
