Hi I've been searching methods on how to implement this on my version of iredmail but to no avail. I have an existing email but the handling of attachment is different from this new version.

Objective is to prevent users from attaching/sending certain attachments .mp3 .avi etc.

Thanks

Roundcube works well to show the user only the domain address book with LDAP build

but when login to the the SOGO, the global address book shows all the contacts from all domains

How can I separate them per address book per domain ,when user login , they can only see the contact belongs to his/her own domain ?

Thank you !

Encryption of Maildir on Server?

Sry for the question, I cant find the link anymore, I once read that dovecot supports encryption of the mails stored on the server - transparent to the imap clients - and that feature now is free. Is that somehow possible to activate in Iredmail?
Thanks!

I am using an external spam service so I have bypassed spamassassin in my iredmail configuration.

Yet sometimes email lands in roundcube's spam folder. I users will not see the messages in their desktop email clients.

Is there any way to make sure all email received goes into the inbox?

Thanks!

Hallo,

In the last weeks I receive more SPAM mails about sexual enhancers and bitcoins. Is it possible to configure or train the spam filter so that users are no longer annoyed by these mails?

Many thanks in advance!

I try to login to the postmaster account and it tells me the login is incorrect. I am using the exact login printed in the iRedMail.tips file, I've tried in both roundcube and iredadmin, neither work.

I tried following the guide here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/ … l-password

and I think it changed fine, nothing went wrong, but it's still not letting me log in, I have no idea whats wrong.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

what is the state of user based SPAM handling/training in iRedMail? I read through the documentation and the howtos to find that most documented howtos are already installed in latest iRedMail.
But I am unsure if users can already train SA using Spam/Ham.
Should users move spam to Junk-Folder and Ham out of it?
If not, how can this be activated? Should the user trigger training in any way? Any other form of Spam training already available in iRedMail? Anything that can be integrated?

Thanks
Jochen

To enable gzip compression

I've added following content into the "/etc/nginx/conf-available/gzip.conf"

gzip on;
gzip_disable "msie6";

gzip_vary on;
gzip_proxied any;
gzip_comp_level 2;
gzip_buffers 16 8k;
gzip_http_version 1.1;
gzip_types text/plain text/css application/json application/x-javascript text/xml application/xml application/xml+rss text/javascript;

but not all the css and js file have been compressed with header "Content-Encoding:gzip"

for example:

    https://mail.domain.name/mail/skins/lar … 1515934851               compressed

    https://mail.domain.name/mail/program/j … 1515934860               not compressed

for more detail, you can use the http://gtmetrix.com to test the web performance

I've get the score 64 for the pagespeed score and 66 for yslow score.

about the compression part

it said

Enable compression for the following resources to reduce their transfer size by 389.1KiB (70% reduction).

Compressing https://mail.domain.name/mail/plugins/j … 1515934849 could save 185.6KiB (73% reduction).
Compressing https://mail.domain.name/mail/program/j … 1515934851 could save 112.8KiB (71% reduction).
Compressing https://mail.domain.name/mail/program/j … 1515934860 could save 55.8KiB (64% reduction).
Compressing https://mail.domain.name/mail/skins/lar … 1515934851 could save 17.7KiB (67% reduction).
Compressing https://mail.domain.name/mail/program/j … 1515934851 could save 8.8KiB (64% reduction).
Compressing https://mail.domain.name/mail/program/j … 1515934861 could save 8.4KiB (63% reduction).

Is there anything I can do ?

Thank you

STORYLINE
******************************************************************************
2 days ago i had only 1 Server hosting 1iredmail installation with all 6 domains hostname: mail.mydomain1.com:
@mydomain1,2,3,4,5,6 with only 1 webmail access:
mail.mydomain1.com{/mail}{/iredadmin} and everything work fine.

For internal issue, company ask me to split domains1,2,3 on a server and 4,5,6 on another,
here the steps i follow:
1. so yesterday i bought a new server and install again iredmail
2. now i have Server1 where i changed hostname into mail.mydomain2.com because before use mail.mydomain1.com but i
     need it on the new server.
3. set server 2 hostname: mail.mydomain1.com, this because mydomain1 have only 3 @domains small so i move less data.
4. i backup the whole DB from server 1 and restore in server 2 but not mysql and not amavisd,
5. i uninstall awstats on server 1, note i didnt install on server 2, cause i saw it and i didnt liked.
6. i copy the related 3 folders in /var/vmail/vmail1/domain1,2,3 from server 1 to server 2
7. i delete domains 1,2,3 from iredadmin on server 1
8. i delete domains 4,5,6 from iredadmin on server 2 cause it was imported all togheter.
9. i regenerate the amavisd keys for server 2 i use only 1 mail.mydomain1.com
10. on server 1 i generate 3 cause they want to access via: mail.mydomain4.com, mail.mydomain5.com,
      mail.mydomain6.com
11. i edited DNS mail ip and dkim for domains 4,5,6.
12. i edit DNS and dkim for domains 1,2,3 all ip point to same and all dkim use mydomain1, cause i have only 1 amavisd
      key.
13. i regenerate SSL letsencrypt for server 1 for mydomain4,5,6 and i delete the previous cause it was mydomain1.
14. i generate new SSL letsencrypt for server2 with only mydomain1
15. tested all keys with amavisd on both servers and all >pass
16. tested all SSL via www.ssllabs.com i got A for all

and the bug is if i try to send a mail msg from any@mydomain1,2,3  (on new server 2)
to
any@mydomain4,5  (on old server 1)  it give the following error
but
work fine from any@mydomain1,2,3 >>> TO >>> any@mydomain6
i tried to remove  "greylisting", "amavisd_wblist" from
/opt/iredapd/settings.py on both servers but nothing change.

I successfully installed iredmail on my ubuntu 16.04 vps. I can log into and send mails from round cube.

The problem is that, I am unable to configure thunderbird as mail client while following this tutorial https://docs.iredmail.org/configure.thunderbird.html
Which configuration should I enter (see attached file)

Also, should I add entries in my DNS for imap.xxxxx and smtp.xxxxx

Hi-ho,

I want to run a simple distribution list using the vmail/alias + vmail/forwardings tables.  I'm using iredapd to restrict senders on the list and it initially all looked fine, but I created a nasty email loop due to the to: address in the outbound email not being re-written.

My understanding was the enable_original_recipient = no setting in postfix (which is set to no) would cause postfix to re-write the addresses in the message as well as the envelope.

With one list member the DB entries look like:

mysql> select * from alias where address like '60m%';
+--------------+------+--------------+----------+---------------------+---------------------+---------------------+--------+
| address      | name | accesspolicy | domain   | created             | modified            | expired             | active |
+--------------+------+--------------+----------+---------------------+---------------------+---------------------+--------+
| 60m@x.org.nz |      |              | x.org.nz | 2018-02-10 06:31:53 | 2018-02-10 06:31:53 | 9999-12-31 00:00:00 |      1 |
+--------------+------+--------------+----------+---------------------+---------------------+---------------------+--------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

mysql> select * from forwardings where address like '60m%';
+-----+--------------+---------------+----------+-------------+---------+---------------+----------+--------+
| id  | address      | forwarding    | domain   | dest_domain | is_list | is_forwarding | is_alias | active |
+-----+--------------+---------------+----------+-------------+---------+---------------+----------+--------+
| 833 | 60m@x.org.nz | chris@y.co.nz | x.org.nz | y.co.nz     |       1 |             0 |        0 |      1 |
+-----+--------------+---------------+----------+-------------+---------+---------------+----------+--------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

I've also tried it with combos of is_forwarding and is_alias and when I send an email to 60m@x.org.nz arrives in my inbox as to:60m@x.org.nz instead of chris@y.co.nz.

I'm pretty sure I've missed something obvious along the way, but is there a way to do this within the mysql/postfix setup, or should I be looking for a solution external to iredmail?

Thanks, Chris H.
