iRedmail v1.3.2 and iRedAdmin Pro SQL v4.7.  Ubuntu 20.04.  Nginx.  250 mail accounts.
Firstly, I really appreciate all the hard word done by iRedMail team for such an awesome Mail Server.  We used to use SME Server, and this is great.  Migrating to this went quite well and so far so good.  HOWEVER, I'm sure this has been solved a number of times, but I need help.  I get the dreaded "client_limit (1000) reached, client connections are being dropped."

WE have around 150 active users.  Some share accounts for team purposes.

In Dovecot I've set:

protocol_ imap
mail_max_userip_connections 5000

service imap-login
process_limit = 5000
client_limit = 2000 (I added this line here )

Some numbers may be overdoing it, but just wanted to see what would happen.  I've restarted dovecot.

But still getting:
Mar 18 13:08:07 mail dovecot: master: Warning: service(stats): client_limit (1000) reached, client connections are being dropped

Please help.

Thanks.

Hiya,

I tried to debug the Postfix as the incoming and outgoing mail issue can be related to this. But going through the documentation here https://docs.iredmail.org/debug.postfix.html the 'debug_peer_list =' missing in the /etc/postfix/main.cf file, shall I add a line for this? If yes, on what line and after what commands it shall be, please?

Postfix troubleshooting with custom commands:

https://ibb.co/cys7mpN

https://ibb.co/7SqLm7c

https://ibb.co/XXt1HZ7

https://ibb.co/fnX7GN2

Could you please check these error logs and if you get a clue how to fix these and where else logs shall I post in related to this, please tell me and I'll update you. I believe this is a solvable issue as long as you reply to my posts, please?

Tnx and best of luck

I installed iRedMail and chose not to install SOGo (nor RoundCube, but RoundCube isn’t part of my question). Right now my iRedMail server is nicely configured and working perfectly. What are the steps to add SOGo after an installation and configuration? Would the install script be smart to detect what’s installed, and provide the choice to install missing features?

TIA.

I am having to migrate to a new server after a couple of years from .98 so I have forgotten how to put Let's Encrypt Certificates on the server.

The documentation mentions:

https://docs.iredmail.org/letsencrypt.h … -encrypt_1

If you need to support multiple host names, you can specify multiple -w and -d arguments like below:

certbot certonly \
    --webroot \
    --dry-run \
    -w /var/www/html \
    -d mail.mydomain.com \
    -w /var/www/vhosts/2nd-domain.com \
    -d 2nd-domain.com \
    -w /var/www/vhosts/3rd-domain.com \
    -d 3rd-domain.com

The problem is there is no /var/www/vhosts folder

First I must apologize for not including any log information. I'm not sure which logs to attach.

I upgraded from v1.1 to v1.2 over the weekend. Apart from a syntax error when I edited the settings.py file, things went fine. I made one boneheaded error when I added the "store fail2ban in SQL" part of the upgrade; I ran the commands for MySQL instead of PostgreSQL. To remedy this I just dropped the new database and reran the right commands and everything went smoothly.

The problem is with RoundCube. I had backed up the original roundcubemail-1.4.2 directory so I could just move things back to where they were, so no problems there.

When I installed the v1.4.3 everything seemed to go well. I logged in and clicked About and it showed v1.4.3 as expected. When I tried to compose an email I saw that my signature was missing. I still tried to test but when I clicked the Send button nothing happens. The button action looks like it did before, the button highlights properly. But the message does not send and I do not get the notification in the lower-right corner like I used to and the message does not send.

Did the rsync scripts not work properly? Which logs can I look in for this? I did not see anything in the syslog that appeared to have anything to do with this. How can I get the send button to work and keep everyone's signatures?

Thanks

Using systemctl status mysql I noticed the following errors:

/etc/mysql/debian-start[981]: Checking for insecure root accounts.
debian-start[984]: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

But using mysqlcheck -u root --all-databases from the command prompt works as expected. I assume the root password is being retrieved from /root/.my.cnf.

However, /etc/mysql/debian-start uses /etc/mysql/debian.cnf as the defaults file, but /etc/mysql/debian.cnf doesn't contain the root password. If I add the root password to /etc/mysql/debian.cnf and restart mysql it works and I get:

/etc/mysql/debian-start[3102]: vmail.recipient_bcc_domain                         OK
/etc/mysql/debian-start[3102]: vmail.recipient_bcc_user                           OK

/etc/mysql/debian-start[3102]: OK
/etc/mysql/debian-start[3139]: Triggering myisam-recover for all MyISAM tables and aria-recover for all Aria tables

My question is, is it OK to have the root password in /etc/mysql/debian.cnf or should I change references to /etc/mysql/debian.cnf in the file /etc/mysql/debian-start to point to /root/.my.cnf instead which already contains the root password?

Thanks, Steve.

Hi,
i was making a test install to upgrade my current version and realized that on FreeBSD the port www/sogo4 is no longer available, only the port www/sogo is available and it actually is sogo5.
i don't see FreeBSD specific instructions to upgrade, but (looking at the linux instructions) it seems to me that the issue is to allow insecure localhost in the config.
Is anyone aware of anything else for FreeBSD?
thank you.

Hi guys,

I'm new here, so it's best time to say "thank you" for this great piece of product. You will see me often here as I've got few questions for you :). Let's start with the first one

I did follow the step here https://docs.iredmail.org/install.iredm … erver.html
since I already have a remote MySQL Server 8.0 up and running, but still it's installed Mariadb.
The doc is not up to date I guess ?

Hello all,

I'm wondering if postfix default setting allow servers open relay.
We're being abused every time we open our port 25.  No user yet configured on our database so it must not be weaker password context.

killed my DNS entries - can't remember what they should be .... help?

I'm getting rejected by Hotmail, etc. and figured it was a bad dns entry.  Unfortunately, I killed several.

My server is mail.myserver.com

I didn't change my dkim, dmarc, spf, etc.

I changed/deleted the TXT and A records.

to get web access back, what A record, TXT record etc. do I need to add back?  right now I'm dead in the water - which is really bad.

I noticed this message during installation
**spamassassin.service is a disabled or a static unit, not starting it.**

but the installation has finished successfuly. What I find odd is that spamassassin service is disable after first installation. I need to enable it, then start it
