Initial Configuration (DNS)

Hello guys. I'm trying to install IRedMail on my VPS server but I'm not succeeding. I researched a lot, tried some solutions but nothing worked. See if you can help me, it's crazy to do fullstack of my website, all help will be very welcome indeed.

The version of IRedMail is 0.9.7 with MySQL. My VPS server is Ubuntu 16.04, hosted by Hostinger.

In the DNS settings I changed:

A (host)
mail 31.220.49.152 1/2 hours

MX (Mail Exchanger)
10 @ mail.ocamisa10.com 1800

Here is the configuration of my / etc / hosts:

ff02 :: 1 ip6-allnodes
ff02 :: 2 ip6-allrouters

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost mail.ocamisa10.com
# Auto-generated hostname. Please do not remove this comment.
31.220.49.152 mail.ocamisa10.com mail
:: 1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback

When I try to login to https://mail.ocamisa10.com/iredadmin can not find my folder. Anyone have any suggestions for the problem?

Why does SMTP not work on remote client?
In the mail server, Roundcube can send email so well, but when I've tried on other side such thunderbird, PHP code it does not. I open all ports.

I try to change port and protocol and I got different error also.

1. Port: 587, Protocol: STARTTLS
Error: Failed to connect to STARTTLS://bb.aaa.com:587 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: Unable to find the socket transport "STARTTLS" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP? (code: -1, response: )]

I followed the manual. smile

My /etc/postfix/main.cf looks now like:

# Sender restrictions
smtpd_sender_restrictions =
    permit_mynetworks
    permit_sasl_authenticated
    #reject_unknown_sender_domain
    #reject_non_fqdn_sender
    #reject_unlisted_sender
    #permit_mynetworks
    #permit_sasl_authenticated
    #check_sender_access pcre:/etc/postfix/sender_access.pcre

/opt/iredapd/settings.py

# 2018-05-22 added
mynetworks = ['127.0.0.1',' [::1]','10.10.100.100','10.10.0.1']
ALLOWED_FORGED_SENDERS = ['liss2@some.domain','user1@some.domain','user2@other.domain']

From an Exchange server they want to use user2@other.domain as authenticator for all accounts.

Guess, it doesn't work. In the mail is:

Jul 13 19:45:07 mail postfix/submission/smtpd[12727]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from p5DD429FD.dip0.t-ipconnect.de[11.222.33.444]: 554 5.7.1 <recipient@db-123.de>: Recipient address rejected: Sender is not same as SMTP authenticate username; from=<some.user@other.domain> to=<Trecipient@db-123.de> proto=ESMTP helo=<SRV-01-AD.other.doamain.local>

Authenticator is 'user2@other.domain - he can send/receive mails, others receive only.

What did I wrong?

Greetings,
Peter

Pre-story, my original iredmail was version 0.9.6.
Then I manually upgrade it, which according to the docs I read earlier, require me to manually upgrade to 0.9.7 then 0.9.8, step by step. Actually I tried to update Roundcube itself, but then the problem arise. I have the old Roundcube backup, then restored it, but doesn't solve anything. And the iredAdmin panel borken as well.

I check that folder /opt/www/roundcube which link to roundcubemail-1.2.4/, both exist. Owned by root.

I have problem with Roundcube zipdownload plugin. I cant enable it.
What i do:
1)roundcubemail-1.3.6/config/config.inc.php           add "zipdownload"  to 'plugins'= array ....
2)Rename  plugins/zipdownload/config.inc.php  (beforu plugins/zipdownload/config.inc.php.dist)

Hi Zhang Huangbin,

I am preparing to migrate to a new server (Same OS).
The new server is a fresh install of iRedMail 0.9.8
The old server is 0.9.7 upgraded to iRedMail 0.9.8 as per upgrade doc:
https://docs.iredmail.org/upgrade.iredm … 0.9.8.html

I have done a recursive config file comparison prior to the data migration to pick up any local changes.
In doing so I have identified that epel.repo for the fresh install does not include "exclude=gnustep*"

After adding it in, I ran the following, to swap over to the SOGo Repo files.

yum downgrade gnustep-base*

========================================================================
 Package                   Arch           Version                 Repository     Size
========================================================================
Downgrading:
 gnustep-base            x86_64       1.24.6-6.el7.centos     SOGo      644 k
 gnustep-base-libs      x86_64       1.24.6-6.el7.centos     SOGo      1.7 M

Transaction Summary
========================================================================
Downgrade  2 Packages

<snip>

Removed:
  gnustep-base.x86_64 0:1.24.9-1.el7
  gnustep-base-libs.x86_64 0:1.24.9-1.el7

Installed:
  gnustep-base.x86_64 0:1.24.6-6.el7.centos
  gnustep-base-libs.x86_64 0:1.24.6-6.el7.centos

As a side note: The old server with the upgraded iRedMail 0.9.8 was using the EPEL versions (1.24.9-1) too, and there did not seem to be any negative issue.
This would be because I ran yum update before upgrading to iRedMail 0.9.8, and adding in the "exclude=gnustep*".

This info is more for accuracy of the upgrade process to match that of a clean install -  Unless you know that the  "exclude=gnustep*" can be omitted.

Thanks, Rob.

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 467815 Jun 28 21:58 index.php*

Modified the adminer tmplate:

location = /adminer {
    return 301 /adminer/;
}

location ~ ^/adminer {
    include /etc/nginx/templates/hsts.tmpl;
    include /etc/nginx/templates/fastcgi_php.tmpl;

    # fastcgi_index latest.php;
    fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /opt/www/adminer/index.php;

    # Access control
    #allow 127.0.0.1;
    #allow 192.168.1.10;
    #allow 192.168.1.0/24;
    #deny all;
}

Added adminer template to /etc/nginx/sites-available/00-default-ssl.conf:

server {
    listen 443;
    server_name _;

    root /var/www/html;
    index index.php index.html;

    include /etc/nginx/templates/misc.tmpl;
    include /etc/nginx/templates/ssl.tmpl;
    include /etc/nginx/templates/iredadmin.tmpl;
    include /etc/nginx/templates/adminer.tmpl;
    include /etc/nginx/templates/roundcube.tmpl;
    include /etc/nginx/templates/sogo.tmpl;
    include /etc/nginx/templates/netdata.tmpl;
    include /etc/nginx/templates/php-catchall.tmpl;
}

I restarted nginx, got no errors but when I go to https://www.myiredmaildomain.com/adminer I get:

404 not found. Any suggestion what could be wrong?

The guide at
https://docs.iredmail.org/monitor.incom … h.bcc.html
states

-- BCC incoming emails to 'inbound@example.com'
mysql> INSERT INTO recipient_bcc_user (username, bcc_address, domain, active, created)
       VALUES ('user@mydomain.com', 'inbound@example.com', 'mydomain.com', 1, NOW());

I did ...
INSERT INTO recipient_bcc_user (username, bcc_address, domain, active, created)
VALUES ('user1@mydomain.net', 'user2@mydomain.net', 'mydomain.net', 1, NOW());

This has this effect
sender -> user1 -> BCC copy -> user2

Is this the expected behaviour or have I just misunderstood the guidance? The way I read it I expected user1 to get the BCC copy. Just want to check in case a future release reverses the operation.

Thank you.

Hi,

i've an issue with my personal mail server.
Unfortunately I find it difficult to receive emails from different services such as banks, services connected to the smartphone and the like. Reading the postfix log I noticed the following:

NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from mail0.ubiss.it[193.41.205.81]: 450 4.7.1 <mail3.ubiss.it>: Helo command rejected: Host not found; from=<contabilionline@ubibanca.it> to=<paolo@zulberti.it> proto=ESMTP helo=<mail3.ubiss.it>

NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from pumpmail6.iwbank.it[80.254.207.44]: 450 4.7.1 <ibglpd45.iwbank.it>: Helo command rejected: Host not found; from=<info@iwbank.it> to=<paolo@zulberti.it> proto=ESMTP helo=<ibglpd45.iwbank.it>

NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from pumpmail7.iwbank.it[80.254.207.42]: 450 4.7.1 <ibglpe45.iwbank.it>: Helo command rejected: Host not found; from=<info@iwbank.it> to=<paolo@zulberti.it> proto=ESMTP helo=<ibglpe45.iwbank.it>

NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from ec2-52-220-13-238.ap-southeast-1.compute.amazonaws.com[52.220.13.238]: 450 4.7.1 <sgp1-jm-mail01.awssgp>: Helo command rejected: Host not found; from=<noreply-account@mi.com> to=<nadia@zulberti.it> proto=ESMTP helo=<sgp1-jm-mail01.awssgp>

That is just an example.
I tried to examine postfix logs using the pflogsumm tool with the following syntax:

pflogsumm -d yesterday /var/log/maillog
pflogsumm -d today /var/log/maillog

and that what results :

message reject detail
---------------------
  RCPT
    Helo command rejected: Host not found (total: 24)
          15   pumpmail7.iwbank.it
           9   pumpmail6.iwbank.it
    Recipient address rejected: Intentional policy rejection (total: 10)
           6   deltachat_matteo@magri.email
           3   paolo@zulberti.it
           1   matteo.magri@sempai.it

I've try with the following modify without solve my issue :

In the file /etc/postfix/helo_access.pcre I added the following at the bottom :

/^pumpmail7\.iwbank\.it$/ OK
/^pumpmail6\.iwbank\.it$/ OK
/^\.tsumi\.it$/ OK
/^\.ubibanca\.it$/ OK
/^\.mi\.com$/ OK

After that, as the problem wasn't solved, i try with the following :

python /opt/iredapd/tools/wblist_admin.py --add --whitelist @tsumi.it
python /opt/iredapd/tools/wblist_admin.py --add --whitelist @iwbank.it
python /opt/iredapd/tools/wblist_admin.py --add --whitelist @ubibanca.it
python /opt/iredapd/tools/wblist_admin.py --add --whitelist @mi.com

As the last change, as the problem still persist in the file /opt/iredapd/settings.py I made the following changes :

# Enabled plugins.
plugins = ["reject_null_sender", "wblist_rdns", "reject_sender_login_mismatch", "throttle", "sql_alias_access_policy"]
# removed amavisd_wblist, greylisting from plugins

Thanks again for your support.

I have iredmail (mostly) working i think  - sitting in my DMZ on a 1:1 NAT (still have an issue with an SPF record but I think I have that figured out.)

I have hosts that are in an alternate domain inside the firewall.
Those hosts used to use a webserver in the domain to relay to the iredmail when the iredmail was external to the network.
Now that that iredmail is local, there is no need to relay and they can delivery directly but both they, and the relay get rejected because iredmail doesn't recognize the additional domain.

I know how to add the domain in the iredadmin interface -- i know I have seen a document somewhere in the documents pages discussing some additional steps to take when adding domains and I can't find it again.   Now it's making me crazy.  Crazier maybe, anyway.

Any pointers would be appreciated!
