Hello.
I'm trying to set-up a mail server for the first time. At the moment, everything is working in RoundCube(receiving/sending), also I can read mail in other clients via IMAP (Thunderbird).

Problem: I can't send mail from other clients than Roundcube sad

Does this log seems OK? I was also wondering about the MySQL part, it seems that the more emails are sent, the more entries I have here. Still, all mails are delivered and received. I'm just wondering why this is showing in the Logwatch email.

Hello,

I get the following connections in mail.log today (hundreds of connections). It is probably a spammer trying to send an email. But what is the reason for the warning ? Is it because of the wrong DNS configuration of the sender: multacom ? Or a DNS Spoofing ? When I did "nslookup 74-115-52-198-dedicated.multacom.com", I got a different IP address: 204.13.152.7.

iRedMail + ejabberd + mod_shared_rooster_ldap

Hi,

this is rather a question about iredmail, but about the LDAP server used by iredmail.

This is what I want to achieve:
I'm running iRedMail with several domains which are administrated using the iRedAdmin backend. There is an ejabberd Server which uses ldap authentication to auth users against the ldap server, which works pretty well (there is one ejabberd server for all available domains; users can add each other regardless to which domain they belong).
I want to use the mod 'mod_shared_roster_ldap' so that everybody has everybody else in his user list grouped by the domains and doesn't have to add and auth each other.

I tried a lot of configs for it, but I'm not able to get it running. My last version is this, which won't fire any errors in the ejabberd log but also won't work:

  {mod_roster,   []},
  %%{mod_service_log,[]},
  %%{mod_shared_roster,[]},
  {mod_shared_roster_ldap, [
        {ldap_base, "o=domains,dc=X,dc=Y,dc=Z,dc=eu"},
        {ldap_filter, "(objectClass=*)"},
        {ldap_ufilter,"(&(objectClass=mailUser)(accountStatus=active)(cn=*))"},
        {ldap_rfilter, "(objectClass=inetOrgPerson)"},
        {ldap_groupattr,"cn"},
        {ldap_groupdesc,"description"},
        {ldap_memberattr,"memberUid"},
        {ldap_memberattr_format,"%u"},
        {ldap_useruid, "uid"},
        {ldap_userdesc,"cn"}]},

Hopefull you can help me a bit smile Perhaps I'm missing something...

Thanks a lot!

Moving domain to another server, mail still gets delivered locally

I recently moved a domain (@domain.com) to google apps, but will retain the mailbox archive on the iredmail server.
What's happening is that, when users from other domains on my iredmail server try to send messages to users from @domain.com, it gets delivered locally, even with the domain marked as disabled on the advanced domain config (iredmail pro)

Hello, I've been setting up iRedMail with pacemaker and discovered iRedAPD init.d script is not LSB compliant [1].

iRedAPD:

  • when the service is stopped, status should return 3, returns 0,

  • when the service pid exists, but the service is stopped, status should return 1, returns 0.

It is a really tiny, low-priority issue, but also something that can be fixed easily. I'm not a bash expert, but modifying status function helped:

status() {
    if [ -f ${PIDFILE} ]; then
        PID="$(cat ${PIDFILE})"
        s="$(check_status ${PID})"

        if [ X"$s" == X"running" ]; then
            echo "${PROG} is running."
            unset s
            exit 0
        else
            echo "${PROG} is stopped."
            unset s
            exit 1
        fi
    else
        echo "${PROG} is stopped."
        exit 3
    fi
}

I already have successfully installed an SSL certificate for our main email domain, mail.domain1.com. Now I created another domain in roundcube and added the DNS entry for mail.domain2.com. Turns out, the SSL certificate covers only the first domain. Now I also need another certificate for the second domain. It easy to get a certificate but how do I install it or where do I put it?
Does anyone here have successfully installed multple SSL certificates in their multiple domain setup? Is this possible?

My mail server is working perfectly; however, my business has a Canon ImageRUNNER 5050N printer/scanner/fax on our network from which we used to be able to email scans. Now we can't. The printer has an assigned static IP. Is there a way to enable emailing from this device through my iRedMail server?

I can get Thunderbird and cubemail to work just fine, but outlook will not.  I have these two settings in my conf file

disable_plaintext_auth=no
ssl=yes

The server sends and receives email perfectly, I just have to get users to be able to connect to it with Outlook now.

Thanks in advance

I tried to install Webmin on my iRedMail server, it seems to work but then I cannot connect.
Is that a known issue, i.e. is this a package I am not meant to install as it breaks some other software?

I am a newbie to iRedMail as you can probably guess. I initially did a clean install on CentOS where I got the same problem but I went back to Ubuntu 12.04 because I much more familiar with it.

The problem is if I try very to access any of the web interfaces using my domain name it fails. However if I put the IP address in then I'm able to access it. For example if I type in the URL https://merciadragon.net/mail/ Firefox tells me "Unable to connect". However if I type in http://192.168.2.160/mail/ then a connection is made.

Interesting if I just type in merciadragon.net then in the address bar it will change to https://merciadragon.net/mail/  before it gives the unable to connect message.

I have attempted to turn off the firewall  but this makes no difference. Apart from that is beyond me. The rest of the installation seems to be OK but I do need to get this Apache things sorted out. In the past when I've just needed to install Apache I have never had any problem with it so we would seem there is something in the iRedMail installation that I have missed.

I hope someone can help me because it's the most straightforward mail server I have come across I have been trying for a couple weeks to get a mail server running.

The domain name I have given is my actual domain name the server is running and all relevant ports are open, if it helps someone to do an online test.

SSL - Android Devices - Certificate Error

I have an SSL certificate from GoDaddy -- and I've installed it according to the guide provided by another thread.  As far as outlook / webbrowsers are concerned everything seems normal.

However when I connect to the server through an android device -- I get prompted that there is a problem with the certificate -- that it's not from a trusted authority (But viewing the certificate shows that it is the godaddy cert.)

Is there something I need to tweak?

Mail Relay from specific IP

We are implementing iRedMail which requires to relay emails sent from  SAP ERP servers having public IP. From whatever, I have
read, one requires to make changes to the my.cnf file in PostFix and update the required IP's to the mynetworks parameter like:

mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8, a.b.c.d/e

Is this all that is required or is there something more to be done.
