==== Required information ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 0.9.6
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Ubuntu 14.04.5
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): MySQL
- Web server (Apache or Nginx): Nginx
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro? No
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====

In this document, it is explained how to set up Global relay host or Sender dependent relay host:
http://www.iredmail.org/docs/relayhost.html

I want to set up per-user sender dependent relay host, so that mails sent from newsletter@mydomain.tld (and only from this mailbox) are sent over another SMTP server (as my provider doesn't want newsletters to be sent over their server).

Now, it is explained on this page how to set it up via MySQL.
Where to put username and password for the relay, though?
Also in /etc/postfix/sasl_password as for the global relay host?
Is it possible to establish a encrypted connection to the SMTP relay if it supports it? If so, how?

Hi
Within a few days most likely 17th June Debian will be releasing stable Stretch version. There are few changes like PHP7 as default version and mariadb replaced for mysql.

I'm planning to install for testing purposes, wondering will there be any support upon release? I definetly would like to get benefit of php7 and just wanted to confirm whether it's feasible or shall i have to wait for next release of iRedmail

Thanks
Mucahid

I have create own mail server with more domains.
I read guide to create SPF and DKIM

DKIM:    PASS với miền xxx.xxx

but mail-tester said error: You may want to publish a DNS record (A type) for the hostname "internal hostname" or use a different hostname in your mail software.

Any guide to publish A record in iRedMail

====

Hello guys,

I have installed iRedAdmin a while back and it is amazing. I'm just experiencing some mail service downtime with iRedAdmin from time to time. I always look up the logs, the statuses of amavis, amavisd-new, postfix, dovecot, nginx etc. and they look up and running. Also not to forget that RAM consumption is always at 55% to 60%.

Is this normal behavior of iRedAdmin? It feels like it needs close up maintenance and it is not an install & forget kind of thing. Anyway, a reboot of the server would solve this usually.

However, when I installed iRedAdmin at first, it asked me to specify a domain name so I put owa.domain.com since I used to deal a lot with MS Exchange. After logging to the admin panel, I deleted this owa.domain.com domain and replaced it with domain.com (same domain just no owa sub). In addition, I deleted the postmaster@owa.domain.com since its domain doesn't exist anymore and replaced it with one of the actual created emails as the acting global admin email (email@domain.com).

The problem now is that whenever I look at the mail.log file, I see the two following errors:

mail postfix/smtp[2466]: connect to owa.domain.com[45.55.239.140]:25: Connection refused
mail postfix/smtp[2466]: 6C7A71394FF: to=<postmaster@owa.domain.com>, relay=none, delay=126492, delays=126492/0.03/0.08/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (connect to owa.domain.com[45.55.239.140]:25: Connection refused)

I tried to change the First Domain Value in the iRedAdmin config value plus a reboot, but the problem still exists.

I looked at the postfix master.cf and main.cf files for domain names, nothing is there concerning owa.domain.com.

There is that last place I want to look at which is MySQL database, but I do not want to commit any changes before taking your say in this.

Would you suggest where the places of that domain and postmaster email are at? Along with that, why postfix is trying to connect to postmaster@owa.domain.com, is it trying to send error logs to it or something?

Appreciated guys,

Phil.

After several weeks of trying to get to the bottom of why the SOGo jail was not working, it looks like the problem is related to the time stamps in the SOGo logfile.  Log entries there are 5 hrs behind the system time which is set to London - presently UTC +1.  Specifically, a log entry from 1300 system time will be shown as 0800 in the SOGo log entry.

The greylisting is currently enabled and is 'intentionally rejecting' a lot. So I want to put it in training mode to see if it helps making it better and deliver mail faster without rejecting it constantly from every new (legit) mailserver. The documentation (http://www.iredmail.org/docs/manage.iredapd.html) refers to training mode but not the exact line/value to put in the config.

How do I get it in training mode?

Hello,

Recently our iRedmail server has been acting up with the following issue.

We primarily use Active Sync protocol to connect to our mailboxes using Outlook, Phones, etc. All of a sudden we would get this message saying "couldn't login to mailbox" errors on our phones, and outlook would also prompt for username/password. At the same time, the SoGO would also unable to login users (see screenshot).

Today as the problem happened again I did tail -f /var/log/maillog and I can see tons messages like shown below.

FYI - I restarted the sogo service and it did not help. The only option is to restart the server to get everything back online... btw, the only change I made recently was as you suggested in this thread http://www.iredmail.org/forum/topic1276 … meout.html  - Co-incidentally this new problem has only been happening since I made the change as suggested in that thread.

Any idea?

Having some small problems with my dkim setup.
Have generated dkim keys for domain.tld
In postfix myhostname and myorigin are set to mail.domain.tld and mydomain is set to domain.tld
server hostname is mail.domain.tld
but when i do a lookup for nslookup -type=txt dkim._domainkey.domain.tld i always get
server can't find dkim._domainkey.domain.tld: NXDOMAIN
i have set the dkim keys into DNS zone using TXT record
host is dkim._domainkey.domain.tld and the key is the key generated without () and ""
do i need to add other things into the DNS zone or do i need to generate the key for mail.domain.tld ?
also the testing says invalid
thank you

Now the out of the office option is nowhere to be found. Can anyone advise on how to add out of the office in such a setup please?

Hello, I'm in the early stages of trying to replace an Exchange server running about 10 small domains with some simpler alternative. I've recently found iRedMail and thought I would to a test install to evaluate it. It's pretty good so far, but one issue I've encountered right off the bat is:

1. Install emitted errors:
[INFO ] Updating ClamAV database (freshclam), please wait...
ERROR: Can't open /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log in append mode (check permissions!).
ERROR: Problem with internal logger (UpdateLogFile - /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log).
(above retyped from a screen cap, please excuse minor typos)

2. The install seems to work in spite of the above (it's just the AV logging that's failing, right?), except that I get an email to the postmaster:
From: (Cron Daemon) <root@<myfqdn>>
To: root@<myfqdn>
ERROR: Problem with internal logger (UpdateLogFile = /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log).
ERROR: Can't open /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log in append mode (check permissions!).

FWIW, There is no clamav directory in /var/log, but there is an (empty) freshclam.log directly in /var/log

I followed the instructions for a plain vanilla CentOS install. I can't find anything in the install instructions about ClamAV. Has it been added recently? Or perhaps it's part of some other component, and is documented there?

I have a couple of other questions, but I'll post them separately to keep things simple.

Thanks in advance,
Paul

PS: is there a search function on this board? I tried to search for this issue, but can't see how to.

I used the domain name: mail.fake.com
Did I do that correct? Dose this make my email address User@mail.fake.com Or User@fake.com

Hi, am getting issues that email posted from my iredmail server goes to spam folders, or in some cases bounce back (if its gmail for business or so)

SPF and DKIM setup correctly. Tested with https://www.mail-tester.com/

No blacklisted, and never have been.

I tested with https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?ac … n=toolpage

Some of emails and domains I moved to gmail to business or other hosting companies.

server address: mx1.mintis.net

example of bounced email:

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; Your email to group support@gravitywiz.com was rejected due to spam classification. To address this issue:
* Contact the owner of the group, who can choose to enable message moderation instead of bouncing these emails.
* Set up SPF records for your sending domain if you have not done so already.
Instructions for both steps can be found here: https://support.google.com/a/answer/168383.
