Hello,

I am running iredmail on a VM.
This morning I had some network pb ... All have been resolved.
But seems to be an impact on the network of my VM/Iredmail server.

From  my VM:

- DNS request - OK
- Email service (mail.log) - OK
- Local Sogo/Roundcube - OK

But I cannot get access to Sogo, Roundcube from outside ... Even from my local network ... Same pb from my email client, not able to connect.

Any ideas ?

Thx

Hi,
I tried to enable DNSBL service in Postfix to reduce spam (with this wiki http://www.iredmail.org/docs/enable.dnsbl.html). I'd like to inform you there is syntax error.

Mar 1 19:02:23 anubis postfix/smtpd[10730]: fatal: RBL reply error: garbage after pattern at "127.0.0.[2..11]>*<3"

I found your solution here after 2 hour: http://www.iredmail.org/forum/topic1220 … ction.html

But I think you should update the wiki

Firstly using Ubuntu 16:04, mysql, apache2.

My issue is I can not login to roundcube looking at roundcubemail database it has no registered users however roundcubedb has two users.  As the db has no users in it, I guess adding users, is problem.  How do I do this please?

Thanks in advance

iOS and Outlook Documentation Inconsistency

$

Hey there,

We're considering using iRedMail as a groupware solution, but I'm quite confused from this part of the documentation: http://www.iredmail.org/docs/activesync.ios.html

In the "Important Notes" section, it states explicitly:

"iRedMail doesn't provide full support for Microsoft Outlook clients, Mac OS X Mail.app and all iOS devices [...] don't try to add your mail account as an Exchange account in these mail clients. You have to add account as POP3/IMAP account, caldav/carddav account instead."

Then step 4 of the actual iOS guide below proceeds by saying:

"Choose Exchange."

From everything I can gather the "Important notes" section should probably not include "iOS devices" in that list. Am I right about this?

i need to sent mail very slowly , because one hour all public domain like gmail ,yahoo, hotmail will allow only 500 mails .
I have added this setting in main.cf
smtp_destination_concurrency_limit = 2
smtp_destination_rate_delay = 5s
smtp_extra_recipient_limit = 10

is this mean for 5 seconds server will sent only two mails ?

I've been playing around with iredmail the past few days to determine whether it will be a viable mail / web server solution for my servers. I've read through some of your help docs and struggled through some aspects myself.

Question: Can iredmail run correctly with spamassassin, clamd and amavis all disabled from startup and stopped?

I have read your help page on stopping it being used (disabling), however, that does not stop the services running and clamd using 500MB of RAM just sitting idle. Disabling those services makes iredmail capable of running on a server with only 512MB or RAM for single use client site/s.

The problem I keep running into to, is that it stops mail being sent. I have worked through some config files and commented out relevant lines related to them, yet haven't been able to fully work out a solution.

I work for a small WISP that wants to offer email service to its suscribers (around 400 people).

I'm testing a virtual machine with Debian 8.0 and the default iredmail install.

I like it a lot but I wondered how secure it is against internal spam.

What I mean is that if one of the suscriber gets its credentials stolen (by virus, malware, ...), can the default iredmail config prevent the massive spam that such theft could generate.

I don't want the mail server IP to be blacklisted in spam lists because of what some random suscriber does at home.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have noticed that every user can change their email address in Settings -> Email -> Imap Accounts and then they can send emails with addresses that they dont own.

Can I block this setting? I mean no user really need to change this.

I have not found the settings via Google... sad

This is the first e-mail server I have commissioned and I am trying to get the feel for how the system works before I feel comfortable with deploying a few more so bare with me in my lack of understanding.

Many e-mails are not being received from specific domains/senders.  Even domains as well known as eBay.  I do not know why this is the case but this is what I see in the log:

2580   4xx Reject HELO/EHLO                        98.55%
38   4xx Reject recipient address                 1.45%

I do not know where to get more detailed information on what e-mails were rejected.  Any help would be appreciated!

I have a couple of questions on the migration of an old mail server to a new mail server.

1. Export only the data or do export the table structures too

Do I use the --no-create-info option on the dump command?

mysqldump -uroot -p --no-create-info vmail > mail.sql

On a test server, the import only worked when I dropped the database on the new server and re-create it with the import, by not using the --no-create-info option.

2. Can I merge the domains from two old mail servers and migrate to a new server?
This will mean I need to export and import the data only from the two old servers

3. Merge /var/vmail mail stores
Can I use rsync to move the mail messages from /var/vmail from the two old servers to the new server or will it cause problems in the mail store?

I have encountered an issue with the calendar sync. If a series appointment is sent and then one appointment out of the series is deleted, although it removes that specific appointment from outlook it does not remove it from sogo online nor phone calendar.

Steps to recreate:
1. Created an appointment series in external email account (in my case I utilized gmail)
2. Accept the series appointment in outlook (double checked that the appointments were added on sogo online and calendar)
3. In gmail deleted 1 of the appointments out of the series
4. Accepted deletion in outlook
5. Check outlook calendar and confirm specific appointment has been removed
6. Check sogo online and phone calendar and in both that specific appointment still exist
